Modelling is definitely not an easy job. One has to possess
good looks, the right attitude and above all, the confidence
to imprint one's mark in modelling. One woman who encompasses
all these and is cruising smoothly in the world of modelling
is Miss Country Club 2K, Sonia Jaggi. A graduate
of hotel management, Sonia Jaggi has carved a niche in
modelling with her charming and gorgeous looks.
had a special liking for modelling since her childhood.
Coming from an army family, she was brought up in an environment
where there was a lot of scope for social interaction.
"I always had a liking for modelling since my
childhood and my background and upbringing provided me
with ample chance to meet people from all walks of life.
This helped me enter the field of modeling" says
Sonia, who loves to maintain an active social life. Sonia
made her debut in modeling in 1996 with JD Institute of
Fashion Designing. After that, there was no turning back
for her and she did many hoarding campaigns, ad films,
still shoots, ramp shows and anchored live product launches.
She did ads for Biological E Ltd, Nilkamal furniture,
Airtel, Applogic Systems, Country Club International and
also a music video for MTV.
It was consistent effort and perseverance that has brought
in this profession. About being lucky in modelling
she says, "Yes, I am lucky in modelling, but I
create a great deal of that luck myself by letting people
know I am ready and willing to be lucky. The right networking,
consistent efforts, perseverance, determination spells
luck for me".
But is she scared of failure? "One has to realise
that failure is an event and never a person. It is all
in the mind, the faith you instill in yourself. Aim something
beyond your potential and you are sure to do justice to
yourself. Explore the present which has infinite potential,"
says Sonia exuding confidence.
her hobbies? "Too involved in sharpening my claws.
No time for crystal gazing", says Sonia, whose
biggest passion is modelling. She dreams of a future
where she would love to host a talk show like Jay Leno,
David Letterman, and Connan O' Brian. On the controversy
surrounding the beauty contests being banned in India,
she says, "Beauty contests are like any other
sporting event and the winner is ultimately going to bring
fame and reputation to the country".
Sonia is a semifinalist in Provogue Super Model contest
and was featured in magazines Upper Crust and
Society. This young lady, who has utmost confidence
in herself, feels that the sky is the limit for her and
works determinedly towards achieving her lofty goals.
