Manik, the handsome Gladrags 2000 winner
for the south zone, entered into modelling as a hobby
three years ago. Trained in modelling by the Runway
Modelling Institute of ace fashion choreographer Imran
Khan, Manik feels that "the right attitude and
confidence play an important role in becoming a good model."
The Gladrags 2000 was held in Bangalore and 150
boys from all over south India participated in the event.
says, "One should take modelling as a hobby and should
not take it very seriously." And adds, "Studies
should not be neglected for the sake of modelling." He
is doing his B.Com. final year from Pragathi Mahavidyalaya,
Who are his favourite models? "My favourite models
are Milind Soman, John Abraham and Aditi Govitrikar,"
Presently, he is gearing up to participate in the Gladrags
All India Finals to be held in Mumbai. He practises
daily for three hours. It includes physical exercises
and practising walk attitude. He also pays a special attention
to his diet. "Less of fat, less of oil, less of sugar
and more of dal and rice," says 20-year-old Manik
disclosing his preparations for the Gladrags finals.
